Members of the Korean community in the United States are holding rallies in New York to condemn North Korea’s artillery attack on South Korea’s Yeonpyeong Island.

A group of protesters composed of North Korean escapees residing in the U.S. held a rally in front of the North Korean mission to the U.N. on Thursday, denouncing the North for having fired artillery shells on the South Korean island last week.

One of the protesters says that they were shocked at the news of North Korea’s artillery attack on Yeonpyeong. They participated in the rally for more than one hour despite a downpour.

Another rally against the North Korean shelling will be held in front of the North Korean mission on Friday.
