British Prime Minister David Cameron says the U.K. will provide support to South Korea through the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in regards to North Korea’s artillery attack on Yeonpyeong Island last Tuesday.

Cameron told South Korean Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik in Zurich, Switzerland, on Wednesday that he commended South Korea for its patience on the incident. The two leaders were in Zurich to take part in South Korea’s bid to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Cameron reportedly told Kim that North Korea engages in provocations because of its inherent weaknesses.

In a previous meeting with Qatar's Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani, the emir said the problem with the North was that it had nothing to lose, adding that the inter-Korean situation would likely be resolved in a way that is advantageous to South Korea.
