'China Had Intelligence on NK Underwater Nuke Facility'

U.S. embassy cables have shown that China had confidential information in 2008 that North Korea has a secret underwater nuclear facility.

According to the cables revealed by WikiLeaks, confirmation about the existence of such information was sent by an expert on North Korea in Shanghai to an official at the U.S. consulate.

The expert said that the nuclear program report North Korea submitted to China in May 2008 was incomplete and that China had information about an underwater nuclear facility.

A senior official at the South Korean Foreign Ministry said Thursday that he doubts the authenticity of the report.
