NK Leader Makes Stops on Return Trip from Russia

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il is making stops in China after spending several days on a trip in Russia.

Kim and his entourage were spotted arriving in Hulunbuir City in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region late Thursday some 200 kilometers from the Russia-China border.

Ahead of arriving in Hulunbuir, a special train carrying the reclusive North Korean leader entered China via the Chinese border city of Manzhouli around seven p.m. Thursday. The train stayed at a station in Manzhouli for roughly 20 minutes while he was greeted by Chinese officials.

Kim is likely to return to North Korea by passing through Dandong or Tumen after making stops in China’s eastern cities, including Daqing and Changchun.

He held summit talks with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in Russia’s eastern Siberian city of Ulan-Ude earlier on Wednesday.
