NK Leader: Willing to Unconditionally Resume Nuke Dialogue

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il says he is willing to resume the six-party nuclear talks unconditionally and pursue the goal of creating a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula.

Kim made the statement in a meeting with Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo in Daqing, Heilongjiang Province, on Friday, the second day of his visit to China.

The North Korean leader said that his country will fully implement the September 19th Joint Statement with other concerned countries to maintain and promote peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

He also wished good health and happiness to Chinese President Hu Jintao.

Following the meeting with Dai Bingguo, Kim left for North Korea by his special train via Harbin.

In the province, the North Korean leader visited the industrial city Qiqihar and Daqing, which is home to China’s largest oil field.
