FM Denounces Arson Attack in Mexico

The Foreign Ministry has strongly denounced the arson attack at a casino in Mexico that killed at least 52 people and injured a dozen others.

In a statement issued on Sunday, ministry spokesman Cho Byung-jae said the attack against innocent people was a crime against humanity that cannot be tolerated. The ministry then offered condolences to the victims’ families and conveyed words of consolation to the Mexican government and people.

The government plans to convey a similar message to the Mexican government through Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Jae-shin when he visits Mexico on Monday.

Last Thursday, suspected drug cartel members emptied tanks full of flammable liquid and set fire to the Casino Royale in the northeastern city of Monterrey.
