Radio Free Asia says that a European Parliament delegation will visit North Korea on October 19th.

The U.S. broadcaster reported that delegates of the parliament’s committee on Korean affairs are expected to urge North Korea to return to the six-party nuclear talks and halt its nuclear development program. RFA said the delegates will also call on the North to improve human rights conditions for North Korean people and discuss offering humanitarian aid to the communist country.

Members of the committee visit South and North Korea every year to discuss policy on the Korean Peninsula. But the committee nixed a plan to visit North Korea last year in the wake of the North’s sinking of South Korea’s Cheonan naval vessel.
