Sohn: Japanese Gov't Needs to Adjust View on History

Main opposition Democratic Party Chairman Sohn Hak-kyu says he would like the Japanese government to adopt a desirable attitude towards the history between Japan and Korea for bilateral relations to develop.

Sohn spoke at the National Assembly on Friday during a visit by the Democratic Party of Japan’s Okada Katsuya. He said Japan’s new prime minister Noda Yoshihiko had made a comment which concerned South Koreans about bilateral relations.

Okada said although there are numerous problems in South Korea-Japan relations, politicians should address them correctly and build positive relations. Okada said the ancient Korean royal books looted by Japan will be returned to South Korea very soon.
