Verizon Takes Samsung's Side in Apple-Samsung Case

U.S. largest telecom service provider Verizon Wireless has asked the U.S. court presiding over Apple’s case against Samsung Electronics to deny an injunction against Samsung’s products in the U.S.

FOSS Patents, a blog on software patent news, said Sunday that Verizon filed a brief asking a Northern District of California court to deny Apple’s request for a preliminary ban on Samsung devices.

Verizon reportedly claimed in the request that the ban would hinder the development and rollout of its LTE-based 4G network and thus would be against the public’s interest.

The local court, which plans to hold a hearing on the injunction on October 13th, will soon decide on whether to adopt Verizon’s complaint.
