Samsung Electronics Seeks iPhone, iPad Sales Ban in the Netherlands

Samsung Electronics has urged a Dutch court to ban the sale of Apple’s iPads and iPhones in the Netherlands.

The South Korean electronics giant’s legal team said Monday that Apple had infringed Samsung’s 3G wireless technology. It explained that Apple violated Samsung’s patent rights intentionally and in an organized way by advancing into 3G wireless phone markets in 2008 without paying license fees for some of the patents.

In response, Apple’s legal team said Apple is using Intel’s chipsets for its iPhones being sold in Europe, adding that such a move has met conditions to use 3G wireless technology.
