Gazprom Increases Gas Delivery Volume for S.Korea

Russia’s state-controlled energy company Gazprom will increase its natural gas supply to South Korea by 20 percent when it begins to export natural gas to the South through North Korea.

The Pipeline Natural Gas (PNG) project calls for the delivery of natural gas from Russia to South Korea via North Korea by means of a pipeline that would link the three nations.

Gazprom Vice President Alexander Medvedev on Monday told a news conference that the delivery volumes for South Korea will increase by 12 billion cubic meters per year from the original ten billion if a gas pipeline is constructed.

Medvedev added that the volume for North Korea, most of which will be used for power generation, will be discussed later.
