An Australian court is expected to take some time before ruling on Samsung Electronics' request to ban the sale of Apple's recently released iPhone 4S.

During initial deliberations of the case on Tuesday, a court in New South Wales delayed holding a detailed review of Samsung's petition and decided to resume the session November first to schedule a date for a hearing.

Samsung Electronics on Monday filed suits with courts in Tokyo, Japan and New South Wales in Australia requesting a temporary ban on the sale of iPhone 4S citing Apple's patent violations.
