N. Korea, U.S. Holding High-Level Talks in Geneva

The second round of high-level talks between North Korea and the U.S. to discuss the North's nuclear issue has opened in Geneva.

Monday's meeting is a follow-up to the first round of talks held in New York in July, and the results are predicted to affect whether the six-party nuclear dialogue can resume or not.

The two sides are expected to discuss the North’s implementation of preliminary steps for denuclearization including the suspension of its uranium enrichment program.

The North Korean delegation is led by First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye-gwan, and the U.S. delegation is led by Special Representative for North Korea Policy Stephen Bosworth. U.S. ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Glyn Davies, is also attending the meeting as he is nominated to succeed Bosworth following the high-level talks in Geneva.
