Kim Jong-il Repeats Call for Resumption of Nuke Talks

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il has again called for the resumption of six-party nuclear dialogue.

China's Xinhua News quoted Kim as saying during talks with Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang in Pyongyang Monday that he hopes the six-way talks can open at the earliest date.

Kim also reportedly stressed that all concerned nations must completely implement provisions agreed to in the September 19th, 2005 Joint Statement based on the principle of "action-for-action."

Earlier on October 19th in a written interview with Russia's Itar-Tass news agency, Kim said the six-way talks must be resumed unconditionally. He said North Korea is unchanged in its position that the 2005 declaration must be fully implemented to realize a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula.
