New US Amb. to Korea to be Sworn in Next Week

New U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Sung Kim will begin official duties in Seoul soon after his swearing-in ceremony presided over by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton next week.

Kim’s swearing-in is scheduled to be held next Thursday in Washington with his family, State Department officials and South Korea’s Ambassador to the U.S. Han Duck-soo in attendance. Kim will be the first Korean-born U.S. ambassador to serve in South Korea.

During the ceremony, Clinton is expected to ask Kim to make active efforts for progress in South Korea-U.S. relations.
