RFA: UN Food Agency to Deliver 14,000 Tons of Grain to NK in Oct

Radio Free Asia is reporting that the U.N.’s World Food Programme plans to provide almost 200 North Koreans with food during October.

The U.S. based broadcaster reported Wednesday that the food agencies spokesman for North Korea, Nana Skau, said this month's delivery will be the largest the agency has made over the past year.

Skau said that 14-thousand tons of grain would arrive in North Korea in October alone. She added the food agency secured triple the four-thousand tons of food assistance it amassed in September.

Meanwhile, Voice of America (VOA) reported that the Finnish government donated 950-thousand dollars to the International Red Cross to support large-scale food aid to North Korea and relief for flood victims there.
