S. Korean, Russian Top Nuke Envoys Begin Discussions in Moscow

The Russian Foreign Ministry says the top nuclear negotiators of South Korea and Russia have begun discussions on ways to resume the stalled six-way nuclear talks.

Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich announced on Thursday that Russia’s chief delegate to the six-nation talks, Alexei Borodavkin, met with South Korea’s top nuclear envoy Lim Sung-nam in Moscow and held talks as part of Lim's three day trip.

The spokesman said that on Friday, Borodavkin and First Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Denisov will meet North Korea’s First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye-kwan for discussions in the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The spokesman said the upcoming talks will focus on ways to reopen the six-party dialogue. The spokesman added there will be no trilateral meeting among the officials of Russia and the two Koreas.
