Poet Ko Un Holds Recital in Paris

Leading Korean poet Ko Un held a recital at the South Korean Culture Center in Paris Friday evening local time.

He read about 20 of his most well-known poems including "Did Poetry Come to You" and "Maninbo" in Korean and French to an audience of some 100 members including French locals and Korean residents.

He also introduced the poems himself.

During the two hour event, he recited the poems in varying voice tones with dramatic body gestures and was highly applauded. He also sang the traditional Korean song "Arirang."
