The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has decided to maintain its highest level sanctions imposed on North Korea.

South Korea's Permanent Delegation to the Paris-based Organization for Economic Development and Cooperation (OECD) says that the decision was reached during the task force's general assembly. During the assembly, the inter-governmental body assessed North Korea's efforts to prevent money laundering and terrorist funding.

Seoul's permanent delegation to the OECD said no member state of the task force opposed or raised objections to the decision to keep top level financial sanctions on North Korea.
