Thailand Hopes to Learn S.Korea's River Control Technology

The government of Thailand has expressed its interest to learn river control technologies from South Korea.

Thailand's Minister of Information, Communication and Technology Anudith Nakornthap met with members of the Korea Church Relief Team in Bangkok Monday. He expressed interest in Korea's water control technology and said his country is willing to learn if the Seoul government can provide assistance.

The minister's remarks follow a meeting between Thai Foreign Minister Surapong Towijakchaikul and President Lee Myung-bak in Seoul on Friday. During their talks, the foreign minister gave President Lee a letter from the Thai prime minister expressing hope to share Korea's expertise of its river renovation project.

The members of the Korea Church Relief Team were in Thailand Monday to visit a flood relief center and discuss the delivery of relief supplies from Korea to Thailand via airplane.
