Hyundai-Kia Grab 8.8% Share of US Auto Market

Hyundai Motor and Kia Motor’s auto shares of the U.S. market have risen while Japanese autos are losing ground in the market.

Hyundai Motor commanded a five-point-one percent share in the U.S. market in October, up from four-point-five percent posted in October of last year.

Kia Motors' share was three-point-seven percent, also up from three-point-three last year.

The two South Korea automakers' combined share totals eight-point-eight percent, higher than second ranking Honda and third ranking Nissan.

Frontrunner Toyota maintains its lead in the U.S. with an eleven percent share, but this figure is down from 12-point-six percentage points during the same period last year.
