'Greece Should Learn from S.Korea to Resolve Debt Crisis'

A Taiwanese newspaper says as Greece battles against default it should learn from the sacrifice South Koreans made in the late 1990s to help their nation pull out of a foreign exchange crisis.

Taiwan’s United Daily News said in its Thursday morning issue that in 1998, the South Korean public took the lead in helping overcome their country’s foreign exchange crisis by donating any gold that they had their homes. The paper said the Greek public should learn this spirit of sacrifice.

The newspaper also said that a trend is emerging in Greece where its people are hurrying to send their assets to overseas nations.
