Europe Steps up Pressure on Iran following Attack on British Embassy

European countries are stepping up diplomatic pressure on Iran after Iranian protesters stormed the British embassy in Tehran on Tuesday.

Italy is considering closing its embassy in Iran while France and the Netherlands have decided to call in their ambassadors stationed in the Iranian capital.

The White House expressed its support for the British government’s decision to expel Iran’s ambassador from London, calling on the Iranian government to guarantee the safety of foreign diplomats

However, the Iranian government is vowing to take correspondent countermeasures, calling the British government’s decision passive and hasty.
