IMF Likely to Lower Global Economic Growth Outlook in January

The International Monetary Fund says that it might lower its global economic growth outlook next year.

IMF spokesman Gerry Rice said in a news briefing on Thursday, local time, that in order to reflect a slowdown in economic activities, European financial turmoil and growing economic uncertainties these days, his agency will likely revise its global economic outlook downward through the end of January. However, he did not elaborate on any details.

Rice said that the IMF Board will meet on December fifth to consider the provision of another two-point-two billion dollar bailout fund to Greece.
