S. Korea Climbs the Ranks in WEF's Financial Development Index

South Korea has moved up six spots this year to rank 18th in the fourth annual Financial Development Index released by the World Economic Forum.

The nation received high scores in the areas of nonbanking financial services, corporate environment and financial markets but scored low in financial stability, institutional environment and financial accessibility.

Hong Kong topped the list after coming in at fourth place last year.

The Financial Development Index is measured by analyzing drivers of a country's financial system development.
