Beijing’s population has exceeded 20-million.

Beijing’s statistical office says the number of residents in the capital city rose by 567-thousand year-on-year to 20-million-186-thousand as of the end of 2011.

The number of residents includes the city’s registered population and those from other regions who resided in Beijing for over six months.

About 375-thousand people moved to the captial city last year driving the rise in the number of Beijing residents.
