Radioactive Materials in Fukushima Increase

The amount of radioactive materials released from Japan’s Fukushima Number One Nuclear Power Plant is found to have increased.

Tokyo Electric Power Co. says radioactive materials released from reactors one and three amount to around 70-million becquerels per hour.

This is 10-million becquerels more than in December of 2011, when the Japanese government announced that ramifications of the nuclear plant explosion were under control.

Tokyo Electric Power says that radioactive materials could have been released from the surface of reactor three in the process of cleaning debris off of the roof.
