Chinese Forces Open Fire on Tibetan Protesters

Radio Free Asia reports that Chinese authorities opened fire on Tibetan protesters on Tuesday for the second time this week killing two people and injuring 40 others.

The U.S. broadcaster quoted local sources saying Chinese security forces fired guns and arrested 40 Tibetan protesters in the Tibetan autonomous area in Gansu, Sichuan Province. All public activities have also been limited.

The Tibetan government in exile in India appealed to the international community to intervene in the clash between Chinese authorities and Tibetan protesters and to prevent any more bloodshed.

On Monday, Chinese police fired at Tibetan protesters leaving one dead and four others injured.
