U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Kurt Campbell will visit South Korea, Vietnam and Cambodia from next week.

Campbell will speak with officials from the presidential office and the foreign ministry in Seoul on the first stop of his trip that will last from January 30th through February fourth. The discussions will deal with recent events in North Korea and other situations in and outside the Korean Peninsula.

Campbell’s last visit to Seoul was from January fourth through the sixth.

A source in Washington D.C. said Campbell is not visiting South Korea because of an urgent matter regarding North Korea. The source said the visit was scheduled beforehand.
