Gingrich, Romney Make Final Pitches in Florida Ahead of Primary

Republican presidential contenders Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney are making their final pitches in Florida ahead of the state’s presidential primary on Tuesday.

As a winner-takes-all contest, the Florida primary is important for the Republican presidential hopefuls since 50 delegates are at stake.

Currently, Romney is on an upswing while Gingrich is seeing his popularity ratings slip after gaining significant momentum last week. Survey results from Public Policy Polling show that Romney polled at 40 percent, eight percentage points higher than Gingrich.

Reuters said the former Massachusetts governor won 43 percent of approval ratings and is leading Gingrich by a margin of eleven percentage points.
