Saudi Arabian Women Could be Allowed to Attend Soccer Matches

Saudi Arabian women may be allowed to watch soccer games at a stadium for the first time in the conservative Muslim country.

Saudi Arabia’s state-run newspaper Al-Sharq reported that Saudi Arabian women may be able to watch soccer games at one stadium, which will be completed in 2014 in the western port city of Jeddah.

Government officials also said on the condition of anonymity that the new stadium will have a family section for women who attend the matches with their families.

Saudi Arabia prohibits the mixing of genders outside of family members.
