The Netherlands will host the third Nuclear Security Summit in 2014.

The Dutch government said the Netherlands has accepted South Korea's request to host the summit.

South Korea is holding the second Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul this March.

Dutch Foreign Minister Uri Rosenthal said in a report to parliament that South Korea’s request is a show of confidence and the result of the active role the Netherlands has played in the non-proliferation arena.

The summit will bring together 50 leaders of major countries and international organizations to discuss the prevention of nuclear terrorism.
