A German court has rejected Apple’s request to ban Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet PC and Galaxy Nexus smartphones in Germany.

Munich Regional Court Judge Andreas Mueller said in a ruling Wednesday that Samsung demonstrated "it is more likely than not that the patent will be revoked" due to an existing technology on the market before protection had been filed for the intellectual property.

Last year, Apple filed a complaint against Samsung with the Munich court claiming the Korean firm had violated patent rights related to technology regarding touch screens.

Next Thursday, the Regional Court of Düsseldorf is expected to issue a ruling on another suit Apple has filed against Samsung over violating design patents.
