WCO RILO A/P Opens in Seoul

The World Customs Organization opened its Regional Intelligence Liaison Office for Asia and the Pacific in Seoul and held an opening ceremony on Thursday.

The office will support intelligence exchange among 26 Asia-Pacific members against the trafficking of illegal drugs, weapons and nuclear materials as well as IPR infringement and international trade fraud.

The Korea Customs Service will be operating the international organization over the next four years.

Korea Customs Service Commissioner Joo said in his opening remarks that he will support the center by strengthening intelligence sharing and enhancing cooperation with other regional intelligence liaison offices as well as other international agencies, such as Interpol, against transnational crimes.
