S. Korea, Russia Agree to Swiftly Resume Nuke Talks

The top nuclear negotiators of South Korea and Russia have agreed on the need to swiftly resume the stalled six-way nuclear talks.

Lim Sung-nam and his Russian counterpart Igor Morgulov reached the agreement in Moscow on Wednesday.

Lim said both nations decided to work together to create an environment that will get North Korea to return to talks on denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula.

Lim and Morgulov also shared views on the situation on the Korean Peninsula following Kim Jong-il’s death.

Wednesday’s meeting was the first to be held between Lim and Morgulov, who was appointed late last year to represent Russia in the six-nation nuclear talks.
