Britain Deploys New Destroyer to Falkland Island Region

Britain has deployed one of its most modern warships to waters near the disputed Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic Ocean.

Brazilian media report that the British Navy sent the destroyer “HMS Dauntless” to replace another destroyer operating in waters near the Falkland Islands last Friday.

The Argentine government is blaming Britain for its militarization in the South Atlantic Ocean, claiming that the European country also dispatched a nuclear-armed submarine after the deployment of the destroyer.

But the British government denied the accusation, saying the new destroyer is a replacement of an old naval vessel. It did not make detailed comments on the dispatch of a nuclear-armed submarine.
