U.S. Military Intel Says China to Deploy Anti-ship Missiles

The director of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency says China is preparing to deploy its DF-21D anti-ship ballistic missiles that are capable of attacking U.S. aircraft carriers.

U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Ronald Burgess said during a U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee hearing Thursday that China has already deployed many conventional weapons and medium-range ballistic missiles.

The DF-21D has an apparent range of one-thousand-500 kilometers and is designed to attack aircraft carriers and large vessels from waters in the West Pacific.

China is also reportedly equipped with satellite devices that provide information on their targets from large shipping vessels.
