Britain and France Urge Syrian Opposition Forces to Unite

French President Nicolas Sarkozy held talks with British Prime Minister David Cameron on Friday at a summit in Paris, where they reached a mutual understanding on supporting anti-government forces in Syria.

The two heads of state held a summit and a joint press conference soon after.

Sarkozy said the government opposition groups in Syria should unite and organize.

The two heads of state, however, agreed that the situation within Syria was not mature enough for foreign countries, like Libya, to intervene.
