An ethnic Korean high school student in the U.S. state of California has earned a perfect 24-hundred score on the SAT, which is a test that the college admissions committees use as a gauge of a student’s academic readiness.

Cho Yoo-jin at Dos Pueblos High School in Santa Barbara is among about 20 people who received a perfect score around the U.S.

Cho advanced to the eleventh grade in November last year and took his first SAT test.
He earned the perfect score on his second test in January.

Cho told local interviews that he believes reading books from various fields helped and that he wants to go to California Institute of Technology, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, or Stanford University.
