US Congressional Commission to Hold Hearing on N. Korean Escapees

The U.S. Congressional-Executive Commission on China says it will hold a hearing on Monday over China’s forced repatriation of North Korean escapees.

The commission said Tuesday that the hearing will listen to the testimonies of North Korea Freedom Coalition Chairwoman Suzanne Scholte, Brookings Institution researcher Robert Cohen, and two North Korean refugees who were arrested in China and repatriated to the North.

Meanwhile, Voice of America reported on Tuesday that a U.S. House subcommittee on human rights will hold an emergency hearing on Friday over the repatriation issue.
