Obama to Hold 1st News Conference of 2012 on Tuesday

U.S. President Barack Obama will hold his first news conference of the year on Tuesday night, Korea time, and unveil the direction of his policies on political, economic and foreign affairs.

The news conference will come a day after Obama’s summit meeting with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. As a result, attention is being drawn to what Obama will say about Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons programs and U.S. policies regarding peace in the Middle East.

Obama’s news conference coincides with “Super Tuesday,” or the day his Republican rivals face off in ten state primary elections. Some observers say the news conference was set on the same date of “Super Tuesday” to grab the attention of voters.
