The top nuclear negotiators of the two Koreas will attend a seminar on Korean Peninsula affairs in New York on Thursday.

South Korea’s chief delegate to the six-way nuclear talks, Lim Sung-nam, and his North Korean counterpart, Ri Yong-ho, will take part in the event.

A diplomatic source said there is a strong possibility that the top envoys will meet on the sidelines of the seminar.

The event will be jointly organized by Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and Germany’s Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

The closed-door seminar will be held through Saturday under the theme “peace and cooperation on Northeast Asia.”
