Geneva Summit to Address Forced Repatriation of N. Koreans

Radio Free Asia says the upcoming 4th Geneva Summit on Human Rights, Tolerance and Democracy will deal with the forced repatriation of North Korean defectors in China and the suppression of North Koreans’ human rights.

The Geneva Summit is an annual event hosted by UN Watch, which is a non-governmental organization that monitors the United Nations and roughly 20 other private organizations to raise awareness of ongoing human rights abuses worldwide.

RFA reported that UN Watch said two North Korean defectors, including Director-General Kim Joo-il of the association of North Korean defectors in Europe, will speak at the event about how their human rights were oppressed.

The summit will also exhibit tens of drawings and pictures at the venue to call international attention to the forced repatriation of North Koreans and the human rights abuses in the North's prison camps.
