Chinese Parliamentary Delegates Champion Chinese-Style Democracy

China’s official People’s Daily newspaper reports that delegates to the annual session of China's parliament share the view that a Chinese-style democracy is the future of the nation.

The daily reported that delegates to China's National People’s Congress in Beijing said developing a socialist democracy is the choice of the Chinese people and history.

The delegates also said that democracy must be tailored to the situation of each country, and for China, a system in which several parties cooperate and negotiate under the leadership of the Communist Party will be good.

The newspaper said China’s situation is distinctively different from that of other socialist countries or Western nations. The daily added that if the Western system of separating the legislative, executive and judiciary is applied to China, it will result in social unrest and the regression of democracy.
