All members aboard a South Korean cargo ship that sank in waters off Shanwei in Guangdong Province on Tuesday afternoon were rescued.

A Chinese newspaper reported that despite carrying seven-thousand tons of sulfuric acid, the four-thousand-700-ton vessel Athena reportedly did not leak any of the chemical or fuel into the sea.

The ship lost power and began to sink at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Chinese soldiers and fishermen came to rescue, safely taking all members aboard ashore, including four South Korean sailors.
