A senior White House official says U.S. President Barack Obama will visit the inter-Korean border during his visit to South Korea this weekend.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Tuesday that Obama will visit the demilitarized zone on Sunday.
He will then attend the two-day Seoul Nuclear Security Summit that kicks off next Monday.

Over his three-day stay, Obama is set to hold a summit with President Lee Myung-bak, Chinese President Hu Jintao and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

During their time in office, former U.S. President Bill Clinton made a trip to the Bridge of No Return at the Joint Security Area (JSA) of the truce village of Panmunjeom. Former President George W. Bush visited Dorasan Station near the inter-Korean border.
