Noda Says NK Nuke Development Poses Threat to World

Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda says North Korea’s continued development of missiles and uranium enrichment activities pose a threat to the peace and security of the international community.

Before attending the Seoul Nuclear Security Summit on Monday, Noda told reporters Japan is trying to realize North Korea's denuclearization in its own way by imposing trade sanctions on the North.

The Japanese prime minister added it would be regrettable if Pyongyang went through with its plans to launch a long-range rocket.

Noda said at the Seoul nuclear summit, Tokyo would share with other nations lessons it learned from the nuclear disaster at the Fukushima nuclear power plant. He also stressed that Japan needs to cooperate with South Korea to enhance nuclear security.
