"Last Decade’s Weather Extremes are Not Accidental"

Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany says unusual climate conditions observed around the world during the last decade are not merely accidental but part of a larger pattern linked to global warming.

Science news Web site "Science Daily" reports that the German-based institute has determined the link between human-caused global warming, and extreme rainfall and heat waves is clear.

The online daily says the researchers base their finding on basic physics, statistical analysis and computer simulations.

A recent UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report shows that the frequencies of hot days and torrential rain are on the rise. The report predicted that the unusual climate phenomenon would continue with the globe getting warm.
