Nominee for World Bank President to Embark on 7 Nation Tour

The U.S. Treasury Department says U.S. President Barack Obama's pick for the next World Bank president, Jim Yong Kim, will leave for a seven-nation tour from Tuesday.

Kim's itinerary on his eleven-day trip includes Ethiopia, China, Japan, South Korea, India, Brazil and Mexico. He will meet with finance ministers of those countries to discuss the policy directions of the World Bank and seek their cooperation.

The department referred to Kim’s trip as a “listening tour.”

Obama nominated the South Korean-born Dartmouth College president as the next leader of the World Bank on March 23rd.
