Spanish Labor Protestors Take to the Streets

Hundreds of thousands of Spanish labor protestors took to the streets on Thursday following a general strike in opposition to a government budget cut.

Protests took shape in roughly 100 regions nationwide and were generally peaceful, except in Barcelona where a Starbucks store was set on fire and its windows broken.

The Spanish government says 104 people have been injured including 58 policemen. Government sources also say 108 people have been arrested so far in connection with the strike.

Transportation has taken a hit due to the protests as well. Bus and subway operations were cut back to 30 percent, and more than 400 flights have been canceled.
